Didn't catch anything so I decided to start tanning the dried beaver and one of the dried coons. Before putting them into the pickle solution I used degreaser on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
Solution:
3 gal water
3 lb salt
1.5 oz mckenzee safety acid
Ended up having to add more water to increase the pH to 1.5. I'm supposed to have a pH between 1-2 in order to prevent hair slippage. My first time working with the acid so we will see how it goes. Last year I only used salt/alum.
