>>1451143It got down to -2 F one night at Lost Mountain Shelter, I believe that was the coldest night I experienced. At Lost Mountain I had to shuttle out to a hostel (the shuttle was free! I agreed to shovel the owner's steep driveway in return), as the forecast was -13 F that night, and my sleeping bag got fairly damp the night prior due to snow and wind blowing into the shelter. I took an additional day 0 in Damascus to wait out brutal cold as well, would have been -8 F (without the wind chill) had I gone out. All in all, I got pretty lucky with the extreme cold, as I was always within earshot of a trail town during the worst of it.
