Most of Texas gets more humid and more rainfall than Arizona's deserts by an exponential factor and AZ gets much more snow and significantly colder due to its mountainous regions. The only part of Texas similar to parts of AZ is Trans-pecos, which has a lot of similarities in climate with southern AZ it's close but not quite as extreme nor as diverse.
