If you master the basic tools of carpentry, you can basically build anything, and new electric tools are a commodity which you can use but I am more confident knowing that I use them despite the fact that I can do it all by hand, not because it is the only way I know of doing it.
And with survival this is essential because this is not your computer breaking because you did sudo rm on / in linux, but you are playing with your life and if you want to do more advanced camping, it is very useful to know how to survive without being a larper, that's why the first thing you must learn is first aid.
