>>1489750>>1489982After 3 straight months (April-May-June, dry months) of no rain most lowland washes are b o n e d r y unless you go into the hills or mountains where's there more shade and higher elevation rocky pools and springs, or riparian ares which always have water. Then AZ enters a 2 months wet season during July and August (Monsoons) and then another 3 month dry period until late Dec then finally the winter wet season and all of Jan-Feb. Almost all of AZ experiences this same wet-dry cycle each year, except in the mountains they still get an inch or two of rain in the dry periods. This is why the flash flooding is so pronounced when all of a sudden you go from 3 months of no rain to 50% of your year's rain in 1-2 months.
