2 lbs on the trail can feel like 10 lbs at altitude.
I'd also recommend renting an avalanche transceiver, again for your sake and the rangers'.
And don't forget glacier glasses. Regular sunglasses don't block enough light to protect you from snow blindness. Luckily you don't have to spend a fortune to get good glacier glasses.
