>>897561I agree but part of the fun is using a variety of lures to catch the bass.
I love saltwater but constantly cutting bait and having bait fish scales cover every square inch of tackle and clothing gets old.
I've gotten to the point where I'm only using lures saltwater fishing unless I have had a long....long dry spell or can't get anything without using live bait or cut bait.
There is something satisfying about finding suspended bass or bass off the bottom in 30 feet of water and hooking them on some random setup you have been trying to get right for a month or years.
Lake bass and smallmouth specifically are much more fun than pond bass in my opinion. Pond bass can all be caught with a senko rigged wacky, mojo, texas, or Carolina at all times of the year if you use varying sizes and color and fluorocarbon line.
It's kind of silly sometimes how easy pond bass are to catch.....until you can't catch them. Then it makes you question everything you know when you gilet skunked on a pond you know is packed after you have tried multiple patterns and techniques.
Flipping sea walls is basically saltwater bass fishing because you catch a lot of small snook and reds and jack.
A bait fish pattern senko or stik-o works well in saltwater. Get the silver black top with white bottom half. Use a gamagatsu superline thick ewg hook so it doesn't bend out. Much better than fighting with treble hooks stuck in a violently shaking jack crevalle.
