Butts are made mostly of cellulose and break down in a few decades anyway. Not the same fiberglass or hydrocarbon blastic that they used to be/people think they are.
Also this hardly ever happens, normally I toss them into the fire on campouts but sometimes when I'm on a particularly long and leisurely hike I'll smokem along the way
