Brother and I used to shoot ~60 wallabies a night about once a week for pest control. Turned it into a game where every missed shot per 10 shot magazine was a beer owed.
We kept maybe 3-5 of the biggest wallabies every trip, the largest males we used for dog meat and the largest, youngest females we kept for roast dinners and sometimes sausages. The rest were left in the paddock for the Tasmanian devils.
To be honest these are some of my best memories of home. I don't really 'feel' anything when I kill a wallaby, to me it's the same as picking an apple off a tree or digging up a potato. Obviously you want to do it right or you spoil the fruit/meat but I certainly don't get a rush of remorse after popping a shot off.
Don't understand your predicament OP. Maybe you'll get over it. Pic is a Tasmanian Bennett wallaby.
