>>1875661I was always just involved in my local music scene and that just expanded outwards with time. Years ago Neofolk the musical genre was closely tied to the goth/industrial scene, I was really into old school industrial and noise and found it organically that way. I think I first heard Di6, Current 93, Sol Invictus on compilation CDs you'd get from like Projeckt or Cleopatra Records. Nowadays it seems like a lot more of the people taking interest in it are coming at it from the post/black metal scene. All that aside though you live in an age where the internet is constantly within your reach. I'd bet ten minutes on Google would leave you with a solid list of bands to check out, include the name of your city and see if there's local bands or shows.
I played in a couple of bands myself, one very Neofolk but I packed it all in to move to out into the country.
