>Couple hours behind schedule>BEAUTIFUL hike through some meadows and rivers flowing hard because rain>switchbacks start and I start dying because am out of shape>gets dark>still hiking backside haven’t reached planned campsite yet>nearly pitch black, clouds covering moon, can’t see 15ft in front of myself cold, damp, double guessing decision to still do this>next clearing in setting up shop>set up tent>damp and cold, eat off brand nature valley bar, MET-rx protein bar and apple, chug half of nalgene>lay in tent listening to light rain drops tap my tent>think about how stupid I am and illprepared, I am unworthy of /out/>fall asleep>wake up middle of night to piss>already know it’s gonna be miserable cold and wet when I step out>reluctantly unzip tent and stepping ready to be attacked by cold rain and misery>eyes still adjusting, 1 foot out of tent and be welcomed by no rain, full warm moonlight, gentle and pure mountain air, soft happy little clouds, and the most astounding view of the sky> see a shooting stat, so much galaxy and stars cliffs cutting into galaxies, clouds gentling moving in to hide the stars>stand there 10solid minutes just taking it in before cold and pee force me to move >tear fights it’s way up to my right eyeMost beautiful thing I think I’ve ever seen.
