I want to share something I've learned while sharpening. The direction of your teeth on a toothy edge depends on if you sharpen going tip first of hilt first.
Taking for example only edge leading strokes on a waterstone, if you angle the knife hilt first, you'll get a knife that slices better by pulling the knife blade towards me (like a japanese pull saw)

Anyone ever had the same experience? I can surely feel the difference if I do a slice by pushing or pulling the blade.
