I've literally been to the Chernobyl site before. You can get into the area real easily through a tour. If it is urbexing you're looking to do in the area most tours are real good at taking you to abandoned areas and letting you walk around freely for a while. Of course the reactor and main facility itself is off limits but they do take you around and show you it all. Plus they take you Prypiat which is where the really interesting abandoned stuff is. You should definitely look into getting a day tour there if you want to see it. It really is the only good, safe and legal way in.
