Bumping for great thread. Anyone ever fished for chinoook or koho salmon before? I did a few times in Elk Rapids, Michigan (pic related) and had a blast. Feels like a car driving away with your line when you hook em. We would douse Little Cleo spoons in anise oil and just nail fish. 10/10 would fish again.
My friend and I have been fishing at Belle Isle in Detroit with very little luck. Caught a small muskie on an overcast and windy day, but that's it in like six outings. What gives? I really have no idea what lures or bait to use. I just have a small collection of hand-me-downs from my dad and a couple newer rapalas i got last summer. In other words, how do you guys know what to fish with? A broad question I know, but i could really use some help here. Feels like I'm totally guessing every time i switch lures
