Let's talk about aluminum cookware and put the final nail in the coffin of aluminum toxicity debate.
Is cookware made of aluminum safe to use or shall it be avoided at all costs?

If you are an ultralight camper that only does it a few times a year, sure go with aluminum

But if you are a dedicated year round survivalist / off grid prepper, stainless steel is the only way to go.

It's not, but literally why would you go for it anyway? If you're worried about weight, go for titanium. If you're not, go for steel.

Some aluminum is safe to cook in, some not. There are different types of aluminum. If you're unsure do the "aluminum applesauce test" on your cookware.

Thank you for your answers guys! I have been looking into debate about aluminium toxicity for long time but I was not able to find any conclusive answer whether this metal is toxic or not when it comes to cooking. Both sides of the argument have some valid points.

I am looking for kidney shaped pot for regular outdoor and indoor use. Unfortunately almost all military type mess kits made out of aluminium and there is almost no titanium or stainless steel versions available on the market.
I will go for stainless or titanium military style mess kit if I have a chance to find one.

Yes it is toxic. No it doesn't need to be avoided unless you go out and use it out quite frequently (I'm talking like if you have an out based career and routinely need backwoods cookware for days on end)

This. I have a snowpeak set I’ve been using for years and they go int the fire all the time and are doing really well. Price being the only drawback.
