The higher quality binoculars you get, the longer you'll be able to use them without fatiguing your eyes. If you're gonna use them occasionally and just want them by your side, spend $100-$200. If you're getting them to go birdwatching for hours on end or something, spend $250 up. Vortex, and most of their competition, now do HD glass for their whole lineup. I have diamondback 10x42. I use them to go birding a lot. They're great, durable, and waterproof; i've never wished i had spent more money on a nicer pair or anything.
