If you're backpacking in the desert (which is the only reason you should physically carry more than 2-3L) then MSR makes a 10L water bladder that you can probably fit in your pack. Filled up it'll weigh over 20lbs though so definitely consider if you want to basically double your pack weight. That said if you're going hiking in some place like Death Valley, you 100% need to carry ALL of your water and then some. Ignore all the PCT faggots who say "lmao just carry a water filter" ah yes let me just FILTER THIS FUCKING ROCK AND DRY DIRT
