What are you usually doing when you fish? Reading a book?

This will be the first year where I can finally buy a car and go whenever I feel like. Hyped as fuck.

I usually take my kids. That means I'm busy taking little sunfish off hooks, baiting hooks, cooking, or making fire. It's a blast! Seriously recommend fishing with a kid or two.

Bass fishing generally isn't conducive to other activities and that accounts for 90% of my fishing. Sometimes when catfishing I'll bring a book.

We have quite a few camps around my area that kids go to during the summer, last year I took several trips out, even got to bring a wounded warrior and his kid out for a nice day of catching "huge" fish. Put them on some perch/bluegill/bass and just let them have at it.

Standing in a canoe and casting a fly rod sounds like it takes a ridiculous amount of talent and control. Respect.

I usually just fish. I never use a bobber so I'm always occupied casting and retrieving. I haven't ever tried fly fishing. I've always gotten the impression those that do are sort of stuck up about it, but at the same time I'd like to see what it's all about some time.

i havent been fishing since i was a kid. i used to fish with my dad off a closed bridge right by his house. the last time i ever went fishing i caught a turtle. ive never given it a second thought until i came to /out/ because you guys making fishing sound so awesome. i think i will definitely try fishing again in the future, but it probably wont be for a while.

Normally drink beer and crank music on my phone if I'm bait fishing, if its day I'll walk around and clean the place up a bit from litter and stuff or try to catch some shrimp or yabbies for bait, if I get really bored I pull out my cheap ass binoculars and just looka t all the shit around me. That's pretty much business as usually when you're fishing for a bottom feeder - like catfish. Fish that are less opportunistic and more predatory are harder to catch with this method.

That's also why I have a two-pole endorsement on my license; I can throw some chicken liver of whatever into the shallow, murky water and then stick it in a rod holder while I fish for trout or bass 20' away.
