Added this state has no interest in helping you create wealth. We want to remain a poor state but look like we're double first cousins with Washington and California.
If you do visit the south coast is amazing. Coos Bay has some meth but its a nice area. It feels detached from i5 and the rest of the state too. Go south from there to Gold Beach, port Oxford and Brookings too for some of the best territory on earth.
See it before the big one wipes it all out. Recession also tend to delete half the coastal jobs which is why the biggest one has remained at 10k pop for a century.
The coastal mountains has some gems too. Alsea has a cool shop and the mountain near there gives great views. A few good shooting spots too.
Mapleton and deadwood is a good drive. Theres also a hippy commute there called alpha farm but I think they self destructed after the religious owner passed and Trans extremists took over. Last I heard only 3 people were left there.
Powers coquille and myrtle point are also cool places. Powers really feels out there. Has a dope drive down to illahe too.
Cascades is okay in comparison but tends to attract more attention. ZigZag was cool but too touristy now. I like Oakridge desu.
As for east side Bend has doubled in a decade. The best is NE OR. La Grande Enterprise Ukiah, Joseph have nice areas with good people. Its mountainous so isn't sagebrush juniper like se
