Yes, generally when there is no one there to commit a crime, crime stops. If you're in a park in a city/the suburbs that's different, but why the fuck would someone travel all the way out into a backcountry state park or national park to rob and or kill you. It's paranoid and ridiculous to think there's going to be enemies hiding out in the wild like that.

OP just from Google maps it looks like Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge is the only place not totally chopped up by roads but I have no idea if that's a viable option.

1.) They're already local enough
2.) They think they're less likely to be caught if they go there

It's not inconceivable -- especially considering there have been abductions, rapes, assaults, and murders in remote areas.

There are plenty of "homeless" around the walmarts gander mountains and under the bridges. And im new here so i didnt realize that apprently there is an obbsession with getting ganked innawoods. I myself am not so worried about it but i would prefer to not be caught tresspassing somewhere and A. wind up innajail or shot for tresspassing (because innasouth). Or B...no A pretty much sums it up. Just want somewhere I can safely park my truck (or get dropped off for all I care) walk off and spend my week of leave in peace and solitude.

It sounds to me that it really all comes down to an issue of paranoia, sure there is a chance that Ol' Fred and Bubba Gump are going to be living innawoods and come and chop you to paces just because you are to close to their methlab operation, but thats honestly as far-fetched as saying that little old lady Jenkins from down the street who never harmed a fly in her life doesn't have a basement full of kitten heads and isn't going to wakeup tomorrow and decide you and everyone you know needs to die for the glory of the cthulhu.
