Large format cameras are HUGE
The cameras themselves and lenses are relatively cheap but sheet film is expensive, processing is expensive and not every place does it
>How often do you shoot large format compared to medium format, and in which occasions?medium format is clunky and shit but it's something you can very easily bring in your backpack and shoot whatever you see and like
with the LF I take around 7 minutes just to get it assembled, then I shoot, and then some 7-8min to disassemble it and get everything back in the bag
MF is way slower than 35mm but it takes you like 30 seconds to get your light reading, set the camera, compose etc. and shoot, compared to like 20 minutes for each photo with the large format
when I go out shooting LF I plan my day around it, whereas with medium format it's kinda like a big ass 35mm that you can carry around and shoot whatever
also the RB with three backs, 2 lenses and the lightmeter weight like 8lbs whereas my monorail with the lens, the filmholders, tripod blablabla weight almost 30 lbs and i can't carry anything else when i go out with it
in short: don't take a step longer than your leg
if you're coming from 35mm, shoot MF first, then later on if you truly want it get into LF
>picrel also shot with 65mm
