>>4419495>I prefer portrait focal lengths ~70mm-120mm and the smaller sensor gets me in that range with more interesting lens options. It turns 24-70s into a single lens setupI agree, but personal preference a good camera doth not make.
>the deeper dof of smaller sensor means that you can get more in focus using the same aperture valueThis is a dumb argument. Unless you have a habit of shooting at the narrowest apertures like f/32 or w/e (which makes you functionally autistic), bigger sensors do not limit your ability to get a larger DoF. Crop sensor cameras simply limit your ability to get a thin DoF, while also hitting diffraction earlier. Getting a bigger DoF on FF cameras is simple: turn the aperture up one more stop.
>while retaining the same light gathering abilityOh you actually are autistic.
>extremely fast primes are often less helpful for full frame in low light because they have to be stopped down to not have a razor-thin dofOkay... which puts them in the perfect spot for lens sharpness and lack of aberrations? Somehow this is a bad thing?
>an aps-c camera can use an aperture of f/2.5, gaining 1.3 stops while a ff camera must increase the iso by 1.3 stopsFuck me, please go read a book or even a youtube video on how light physics work.
