>>3864166The EOS 3 is just appealing to me as it has both the advantages of a modern autofocus, autoexposure camera, but with the ability to take full control over certain aspects of the camera.
The thing I just feel bad over is either getting one and basically start hoarding film cameras, or I sell something off, and that'd include at least 2 Zeiss lenses from their days supplying Contax.
I know EF does have the ZE lenses (not talking about the Milvus or Otus lenses) like a 50mm f/1.4 Planar, a 35mm f/2 Distagon, a 135mm f/1.4 Planar and so on. But those are just autoexposure lenses, and the manual focus, while nice, essentially requires the installation of a split image/microprism focussing screen, because allegedly, the focus assist sucks on those old EOS models.
At that point, I might as well keep the Contax branded Zeiss lenses and obtain a brick like the Contax ST.
Pic rel is a Contax AX - a monstrous beast that is just too ridiculous to obtain, just to get the same features of some cheaper EOS 35mm SLR.
I don't know... it just seems depressing.
Btw, is the EOS 3 fully compatible with all EF lenses? I just wanna know if I buy into it, and find a DSLR boomer selling more recent gear, there isn't going to be incompatibility? I know the thing that made me not want the Nikon F cameras from the 90s and 00s is that there's incompatibilities with F-Mount lenses because of screw drive autofocus and electromagnetic aperture...
