Telling someone to underexpose expired film and then pushing it to compensate for that underexposure will only make the expired film even more grainy. Unless I misunderstood what he said but I'm certain I didn't. Yeah if you don't have the light you should push film and get the shot or if your camera has a maximum speed of 1/400 and it's bright you can always pull film but telling someone to shoot a stop faster and push to compensate for that stop on expired film is shit advice.
