I'm a minolta shooter, I've been collecting and using minolta gear for about 3 years now.
Recently, I've come across a Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 and holy shit, i'm sold.
I've also looked into its successor, the AF Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8. It seems to have a little more distortion at the center than it's older brother.
After this, I also went looking for the other Nikon macro lenses, now the 105 f/2.5 is also in my wishlist.
In the past, I've compared the wider side of the Nikon system with my minoltas and I find my minoltas better but these 3 macros are definitely better than the minolta 50mm f/3.5 macro and the 100mm f/3.5 (Not by much but the aperture advantage is not something I can ignore).
I'm willing to go into the nikon system just for the Manual Micro-Nikkors listed above, what's a good body for them? I'm looking at the F4 or the FE2. Which is more reliable?
