>>3956923>There is 'crop and rotate', and 'orientation', if thats what you mean. No, I mean that there are separate "crop" and "crop and rotate" tools, picrel.
I know that the eyedropper functions give rectangle selects. You can see what I mean when I'm talking about this by going into "rgb curve" and clicking on the eyedropper to set the grey, black, or white point. It will just default to some part of your image and fuck the image until you select a proper point.
I know you can choose your own modules, but I don't want to go through dozens of modules, figure out which are relevant and which aren't, and narrow it down to a custom workflow. It's just a damn waste of time for someone who just wants to edit his photos and be done. And I think a lot of people feel the same way.
No, I am not looking for GIMP features in Darktable. I've been using GIMP for as long as I've had a PC and I have no issues with it, but I don't need a tool like it for processing my RAW images. I make mostly global adjustments.
I also know that double-clicking resets a value. I am not sure why you got into your thing about clicking the wrong thing and having your values set wrong. I don't have a problem with the range of values, as I said in my initial post.
You are also failing to address performance. Any other raw editor responds seemingly instantly. Darktable literally takes 1 second plus to do many things that should be instant. Therefore, adjusting simple things like exposure and colors become a chore because I have to make a small adjustment, wait for it to redraw the image, and repeat. With Capture One or Lightroom, I can just drag the slider and the image is basically updated in real time.
