While Robert's way seems to be more didactic and exemplary of the everyday consequences, Ansel's was more idyllic and cautionary about not screwing places up, while himself shooting sometimes about the consequences (rarely but happened).
For example i recall that Ansel stopped photographing the main Yosemite valley when people started coming in droves and doing modifications, so he went out to pick other places while criticizing the park's authorities who were his previous employers. They did hear his word (the Sierra Club's word actually)
