I think I'm going about this the wrong way and will think of non-gear ways to increase the image quality. Monopod is here (it was $50 so it doesn't count as gear) and I might just take the 100-400 out regardless of the lighting quality and see what happens. Worst case scenario is I shoot in B&W to get rid of chrominance noise and embrace the loom noise
