The obvious advantage of the Frontier scanner is that it's a lab-grade scanner and performs as such, in that it's very fast and gets the colour perfect first go (especially for colour neg). The Epson is maybe 70% as good in quality, but is far slower (instantaneous vs. 10-15 minutes per frame), lacks hardware to keep the film flat and the colour science sucks a lot, forcing you to spend more time on images in photoshop/LR
