I fired off a roll of 1600 that I'd bought for an event a year ago - which I'd missed - and was like, 'yeah, I know where to find it,so I can use it', only to find that 800 and 1600 speeds were canned the week after when I went looking 6 months later.
I've got flash gear working now so I don't need the really fast films, but at the same time, it's bloody annoying to feel something dying a death like that.
Ironically, the three most expensive items of photography hardware I'#ve bought are that roll of film, a Pentax Spotmatic, and a Camera bag.
Everything else is found, or salvaged from *somewhere*
And while fast Black and White is still a thing - I normally use film for anime cons and the like which are so much better in colour.
