Using worse software that requires more work is like jerry rigging a broken doorway immediately
Using better software that requires less work is like paying someone to fix a broken doorway, and do a better job at it, while you do something else entirely
Poor people furiously defend #1 and accuse people who choose #2 of being unable, because the harsh reality was they weren't able to make their time so valuable that repairing the doorway themselves would carry an opportunity cost. A good indicator of a true #2 is that they were a #1 in their youth due to the desire to impress their parents/friends.
This is so obvious whether you like it or not that poor people will go broke posing as #2 - and sometimes they really are just too dumb to do the job, but that just makes them want to pose harder. The most major indicator of this behavior is that the time they saved is not well spent, it's allowed to rot. The carpenter fixes their door and they log on to pornhub.
