>>3891586Not a fan of over cropping my shots to be honest, lately I've been working really hard at keeping things landscape and being more comfortable leaving "unnecessary" things in unless they're really distracting from a strong subject. I think you lose a lot of character when you try to make the SOLE purpose of these shots the subject.
At the end of the day, these aren't portraits, they're more like scenes, if the space serves a purpose I'm fine with keeping it in tact.
Months ago I would have probably cropped this vertically or chopped a lot off the top, lost the car, some negative space, etc etc. But it wouldn't be the same without those elements. The blue face lending colour contrast to all the gold/yellows, the lights illuminating the street, the reflections in the car, it all adds up and creates a sum greater than its parts I think.
