>>3450400>>posts consumer grade gear to gain credibilityPosts *literally the consumer grade gear under discussion* (well, near enough. The 70D is newer than the 60D, but their sensors have pretty similar image quality, just the 70D has dual-pixel AF) to gain credibility.
If you want to see my full frame gear, lemme know, but it's not really relevant to the discussion.
>>3450410> my experiences with rebels from around that time.I'm thinking you're mainly just experiencing confirmation bias--I.e., you bought a camera that's better than a rebel and so you expect the sensor to be better than a rebel sensor, and websites like DxOmark and DPReview tell you that the sensor is better, and it *is* a little bit better, but not nearly as much as all of those things would lead you to believe.
Like, I just dug through my archives for low-ISO pics taken with my Rebel XSi and my a6000 and found these two shot directly into the sun. And honestly, there's not really a big difference in dynamic range. The stuff in shadows is a little noisy if you look at it up close, the sun is a little blown out right in the middle, but neither was significantly different to edit than the other and neither is obviously higher image quality than the other and neither had significantly higher dynamic range than the other. It's just not a big deal. Certainly not a big enough deal to base a camera purchasing decision on compared to, for instance, the fact that the A6000's interface is moderately shitty.
