Does anyone know any info on David Bellemere?
I can't find interviews, a wiki page, anything about him really. His work is fantastic as far as sexualized fashion goes, and I want to learn about him and his process.

Hoping /p/ knows something I don't.

I know he shoots primarily digital, though you'd have a hard time believing it looking at his work.
Seen 1Dsmk3 and D3s in his EXIF before.

In what way? I'm mostly seeing fantastic skin tones, and lots of information in highlights and shadows, and lots of gradations compressed into the scene, which to me, usually says film.

Some very sparce BTS videos show him using a 70-200 almost exclusively, and working mostly with natural light and a single reflector.

Btw, the skin looks alright but his processing is very tinted. That is most noticiable difference from film skintone rendition and digital skintone-focused processing, especially when compared to slides — negatives usually are a bit tinted too.

there isn't actually a general way to do this since it obviously depends on the overall coloring of the image.
but most of the time
for the skin tone i would recommend using the curves tool, then go the blue channel, pick the highlights in the skin and pull the curve down to get a slight yellow. then go to the green channel, pick a mid dark point in the skin and slightly lift the curve there. then go to the red channel pic the shadows and raise them until you get your desired look (you could also pull down the green channel in the shadows).
For the look of the skin i would use frequency seperation and some slight dodging and burning to even out shadows and highlights.

...and i would mask the skin out to not get a weird overall coloring.
also in this case the blacks are raised and the highlights seem to be abit lowered.

Met her when I was assisting a photographer and have stayed in touch since. Even shot together a few times (pic related). As for other info she gave me on Bellemere, all she said was he likes to shoot very, very slowly.

Agreed about her Treats shoot. That and his shoot with Fanny Francois and Cisco are among my favourites from that mag.

Can you book models from agencies as a freelance photographer for personal projects? I've never done it and it seems that agencies are targeted solely at fashion shoots.

Don't really know. My only guess is that he's incredibly particular about light and will wait as long as it takes for just the right conditions. If you've ever seen that editorial (http://treatsmagazine.com/anthea/) it looks as if it were shot in one afternoon but according to the model, it took three days and despite the caption of "Proof that France has the best light", it was shot in South Africa. So yeah, he seems very particular when it comes to his editorials.

That was shot in on an overcast day in the spring at around 4 or something. Hope that helps. I really need to get back into shooting in that kinda light.
