>>3401729>Sony has pretty much abandoned their apsc system, and concentrates in their full frame system. There are a few issues with this argument:
1. Sony pretty much has their crop bases covered already. Standard zoom, longer standard zoom, ultrawide, tele, superzoom, pancake, fast prime, macro. Really all they’re missing is a set of f/2.8 constant pro zooms, but they don’t have any pro APS-C cameras and their full frame line is super cheap so that’s not a huge issue.
2. All FE lenses will mount fine on an E camera, so every time they come out with a full frame lens, they’re effectively also coming out with a crop lens.
3. Since the a7/a9 line is newer, there are more holes that need filled (oh baby), so it makes sense to concentrate on those. For instance, they have very few low-end/midrange FE lenses in the lineup (although, granted, they don’t seem to have a lot of desire to fill those holes)
4. As mentioned, third parties are investing some effort into E mount as well.
