Any one have any good C mount optics photos or experiences? These two cheapo optics have actually been pretty good. The CS mount, plastic body optic is surprisingly good for $12. On the wide end it has a pretty extreme vinette, on the telephoto side it actually covers a 1" sensor fine and is surprisingly sharp. The Cosmicar TV lens has been through some shit, but is optically fine. Its actually amazingly good for something in that focal length. It does not cover a 1" sensor but the crops are still good.

Quality is pretty bad, fisheye effect pretty extreme.

this thread is of interest to me because I've been thinking of picking up a Q7 to fuck around with

The Cosmicar 8.5mm is best at f/4.0- f/5.6. Under that its fine, over f/8.0 the image starts to degrade.
Getting as close as possble to the subject is best.

>>4415663 Despite the fast aperture, the lens needs a decent light source to really resolve. This is partially the Samsung NX mini but even at hig ISO's things come out ok if the light is strong.

Decent all things considered because of the jobsite lighting.

>>4414168 What would be good c-mount vintage lens that would cover a M4/3 sensor, and is shorter than 17mm focal length?
/rpt/ Recent Photo Thread

>>4415765 Most wont cover m4/3 already, especially not wider than 17mm. The best you're going to get are lenses made for Super 16 film cameras and they dont come cheap.

this is shot wide open with a Fujian 35mm f1.7 on a pen mini 1st gen, or whatever is called. As one can imagine only the very center of the frame is in focus. I was eyeing a cosmicar 8mm f1.3, but i have no idea if it would even work on a m4/3.

>>4415830 I've also tried it on nikon 1, given they have a smaller sensor, but manual focusing on them gave me actual cancer, would not recommend even at my worst enemy

>>4415830 Image looks good. Slight chromatic abberation around the mouth but other than that its crispy with a nice swirl distortion. Was this a C mount fuji lens?
That cosmicar will more than likely work but coverage will be heavily vignetted.
>>4415831 The only reason focusing works on my NX mini is there is a manual focus assistance mode that does like an 8x digital zoom on the screen.
I'm patiently awaiting for this Ernitec f/1.2 8.5-51mm TV Zoom Lens to arrive. Not sure what the coverage is but ive been eyeing other C mount lenses to give a try but im not 100% on the focal lengths. This zoom should give me some good perspective on what lengths im looking for.

>>4415857 C mount Fujian from aliexpress for like 20€
i wouldnt mind the heavy vignetting as long as i can just shoot in hyperfocal without hassle desu
Also yea, same reason why on the pen mini is doable, while on the nikon 1 is dreadful

>>4414168 Based on how incredible the Cosmicar 8.5mm lens was, i bought a cosmicar 25mm f1.4.
It so far has NOT been as stellar as the 8.5mm.
Not terrible but it just doesn't resolve like the 8.5 does. It does however fully cover a 1" sensor.
