It is 80% customer service and human relations
It is a social game far before it is an artistic pursuit
People do not seek you out because they adore your style. That doesn’t happen. Talent scouts don’t waste their time if they don’t know your father.
You have to give people what they ask for to earn your reputation, or buy your reputation.
You could do this with a 5dii, kit zoom, and $30 strobes you found on craigslist for senior engagement etc portraits or the newest sony for run and gun weddings. But you still have to do it. And when you do it you have to set your pride aside and never ever make an excuse like “but this is a leica q, it cant do that, and thats lame anyways bokeh bad or whatever”.
