Former WWE writer Vince Russo recently talked about Ric Flair possibly returning to wrestling in AEW during the Wrestle Binge podcast. Russo said, “I was saying this all along as a fan and a friend, my God, he had nothing left to prove to anybody.” He also wondered if Sting’s involvement in high-risk matches, similar to Darby Allin’s style, was an attempt to connect with a younger audience or fit in with the AEW locker room.
In Vince Russo’s opinion, Sting’s journey in AEW might not have been necessary given his legendary status in the wrestling world. Russo also stirred the pot by suggesting that Ric Flair might be returning to the ring in the near future. This speculation gained momentum after Tony Khan presented Flair as a ‘gift’ to Sting during AEW Dynamite.
>“Sting would have every reason in the world not to do it, bro. He’s not going to be able to say no. If you’re seeing Flair rubbing elbows with Tony Khan and in the same breath “I got one more,” that’s the one [against Sting].
