>>19326319No, it's not the best, it's just the most publicized because it has a significant head start in being marketed as a brand. They'll never reach their former numbers again; their only option is decline. It's suspicious that with over 80% of their audience lost, they're making more money than ever, but that's a whole other issue, one that might be a bit murky, like the blood money that urgently needs laundering.
AEW started with a similar audience to WWE at the time, obviously because people wanted to see the product and were eager to watch. It's fair to say that a good portion of that audience was WWE fans. Perhaps they were disappointed not to see a guy talking into a microphone for half an hour and then throwing a couple of punches and kicks.
The fact is that AEW is building its real audience and solidifying itself as a product, while the one who should really be worried is WWE because they are completely losing their audience. It's a shame that one can't live off nostalgia and the samoan soap opera forever. While WWE is unable to create new stars and relies entirely on aging part-timers who should already be retired, AEW is creating the new stars of professional wrestling and sowing the seeds of what it will reap in the future.
Enjoy your stupid nostalgia while it lasts, tick tock tick tock...
