Structuring a match, spacing out spots and getting your character across is not something different from being a good wrestler.
Wrestlers don't get together before each match and figure out the narrative, except maybe I work the leg you've got tape on, for normal ass matches.

The problem here is that you don't pay attention or are too stupid to understand what's being shown to you. Unfortunately they can't stop the match every five minutes to grab a mic and tell you "I'M DOING A HEEL THING NOW, THIS IS BAD, I'M EVIL NOW AND NOT THE BABY FACE"
