Hogan won the match that mattered, the Title match on PPV
a #1 contender match on smackdown a couple of months later is irrelevant, esp considering it's not like Gaytch even went on to capture the belt, so it's not like this match ultimately meant anything
Hogan probably let Gaytch win because he didn't want to job to Carder twice (once was ok though) and felt bad for taking the title off him in the first place in his first defense since his big WM win. Based generous Hulkster.
