Now is the moment. You must step in, announce your presence and summon Magnus to answer to Him on Terra. You vox Valdor, and ask him if he wishes to begin, but he shakes his head.
“Russ gave you the responsibility of command. I must honour that, at least. Go forth and announce us, Captain Ales.”
You nod, and standing up, stroll casually into Magnus’ inner chamber. The argument is still going, Ahriman making objection to Magnus and his betrayal of his own.
“We are to share your punishment at the hands of those dogs, then? At the hands of that barbarian Russ? You damn us with you, your fellows, your friends, your own sons?!”
You clear your throat.
>"There is no need."
You leave a space for silence to drop on the room, Ahriman too shocked to speak at the sight of an Astartes accompanied by Constantin Valdor standing in the chambers of Magnus; while the Crimson King himself sitting calmly on a great stone seat of pale lime.
>"The Emperor calls for Magnus alone."
Valdor, beside you, stamps his spear against the floor, the dull thud echoing in the stone, his golden armour resplendent in the light of a giant pit of flame that lies in the middle of the room. Ahriman, for it must be he, the first captain and chief librarian of the Thousand Sons, reaches for his staff, which flies across the room into his hands.
“My lord?”
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-b">Be calm Ahriman. Listen to what will be said.</span></span>
You bow to Valdor, who strides forward, and in a voice regal and magnificent loudly declares:
“By the Word and Will of the Master of Mankind, Imperator, it has been decreed that Magnus the Red, Crimson Lord of Prospero, shall stand before the Throne Imperial of Terra, there to answer for his actions and those of his gene-sons. So it was commanded, so it shall be.”
He beats his spear on the floor once again, and this time it activates, the blade that could cleave a space marine in half suddenly crackling with energy and dull blue light.
“Magnus the Red, will you answer the summons to Terra?”
