>>6229330>drawing, NOOOOAs BananasQM can probably attest (or any anons in actual games where I participate, hehe it is quite rare) I prefer the William Burroughs cut-up method, I make collages or détournement cutouts copy and paste assemblages, bricolages of existing photo imagery, if I had more talent or software I would make photobashes like actual concept or storyboarding artists do (maybe generative AI has made it obsolete?) It is mainly because my preferred look is to emulate AAA videogame concept art (by emulate, I mean shamelessly pilfer and steal from artstation) eg the assets in my 3d virtual tabletop here
>>6229321that is just my preferred look. In my last few games I am trying to broaden my image sources beyond videogames I increasingly use fashion lookbooks, museum collection artifacts, satellite or overhead drone photography and also dramatic real world news / award-winning photojournalism etc. In my scifi game COSMOGONY all the star maps and nebulae / constellation backgrounds sourced from Nasa, ESA etc (even the cryovolcano, - from Enceladus, the radiation bursts and solar flares, the missile launches from Vandenburg... those miniatures and backgrounds were all real) it actually takes a lot of effort lol, especially given that my games are ~300-350 image posts long (every accompanying section illustrated by an image) I do enjoy collecting these hehe but it is quite arduous
