>>5317237"I'll end this in one shot!" you think to yourself, immediately dashing towards your left. With the still-recovering Abyssal on that side, you decide it'll make the best first target for how you'll handle these monsters. The blade trembles in your hands, the ancient weapon straining to contain the power it absorbed. Drawing the weapon up over your right shoulder, perpendicular to your body, you line up the two Abyssal's heads in your sights. “NOW!”
And thrusting your sword forward, you unleash everything stored in your weapon all at once. The energy explodes forth from the blade, faster and far more powerful than anything you've unleashed from the weapon to date. A beam of azure energy that could rival your own Final Flash fires forth from the weapon, consuming the first Abyssal's ENTIRE head at once. The second one has almost a split-second to react, its head twitching and avoids being entirely erased. But that's no consolation, as only a small sliver of the right side of its head remains. The entire rest of its head, along with the neck and a bit of the being's torso are also obliterated.
What is fired from the front of the sword, however, is only half the story. As you unleash that attack, the recoil immediately slams into you, nearly tearing the weapon right out of your grip. If you hadn't been in your Ascended Berserker form, and if the weapon didn't have such a wide cross guard, it would have been blasted out of your hands directly backwards. But since you'd kept your grip on it, instead you are sent flying back with the weapon. Only for a couple seconds, as you suddenly crash back-first into the rocky wall of the Abyssal Trench.
“Guh!” you wheeze, the impact knocking all the air out of your lungs as you're embedded into the wall itself. You can't breathe, but don't immediately worry about it. Instead, you keep your eyes focused on the monsters' bodies, watching them to make sure they aren't still alive. You watch and see their bodies actually beginning to break down. They dissolve into the darkness, bodies fading away and revealing the aftermath of their surprise assault. Over half of the Rak'kari are no longer alive, their ki having been snuffed out by the Abyssal creatures' sneak attack. But the rest are still alive and rallying around their leader who's taking stock of his people. You pry yourself out from the stone wall, tearing your ancient sword free then taking a deep breath, and mutter to yourself at how pointless their deaths were as you swim over to the Rak'kari champion.
