"I was having trouble thinking about what to get you, Master," Aila began to explain. "So I decided to give you something I learnt from the Academy's library. The normal one for students, not the other one with the rare spells in it. A-and I've heard that Savants like to hide their work and inventions, so that helped me decide on this! It's, um, it's- it has an enchantment that lets you encrypt anything you write. Um, you can make it unscramble itself with the correct spell, but it only works on the people you want it to work on, I think. So no one can force you to unscramble it. Does that make sense? I'm hope that made sense."
"Basically, I can hide stuff if I write it in this scroll and I can reveal it to whoever I want," you surmised.
"It's more the spell itself that I'm giving you than the scroll, but yeah."
"How do I use it? Do I just leave my mana signature on it or something?"
"Y-yeah, no. Um, here, do something like this," she took out her wand and chanted a spell. After a few seconds the words on the scroll began to unscramble and the message Aila had hidden became clear to your eyes:

"What does it say?" Herta and Ruby asked at the same time. The latter frowned when noticing that Herta was just as interested in the artifact as she was.
"It says 'I love you, John Doe'," you revealed.
"M-Master!" Aila exclaimed.
"Nothing to be ashamed of, darling," you grinned "I love you too, Aila."
You rubbed her ears.
"Ah... that's..." Aila began to overheat, ears twitching. "Aaaaaa-"
You had to hold your elf to make sure she didn't fall face-first against the table. After a few minutes she was able to compose herself enough to hold a conversation again. You noticed how the spell fizzled out and the sentence was encrypted again.
"So, where were we?" You prompted your elf.
"Wha- oh, right! Y-you just have to do that special enchant and... and then it'll be done! The perfect cipher!" She said, "Since I don't know the Item Enchant skill I had to do it the hard way with glyphs and magic circles, but it should be easy for you since you're a Savant. You also need the right materials or else it doesn't work, but that isn't common knowledge so I had to really study up in the library! Um, I'll give you the details later. J-just treat it like you're casting the enchantment while writing words in a book or a scroll or a letter or- um, I'm sorry if you don't like it pleaselikeitIwastryingtogiveyousomethingniceand-"
"It's great. I love it." You said sincerely. Having some secret signal or archive could be valuable.
"Y-you do!?" Aila exclaimed with a smile, letting herself sigh in relief. "Thank the gods..."
