“Oh, alright. Are you headed back now, or...?” she asks.
“Not unless I'm needed, going to stay here a bit and make sure Darkseid is really gone for now.” you tell her, your wife wishing you luck. You then return your focus to the two defenders, speaking to them both. “I'll stick around to help out a bit, I have nothing too urgent going on back home.”
“I'm heading back now Dad.” Broly tells you, raising his hand to his forehead.
“You and Kori have fun.” you tell him, your son nodding before vanishing as well.
“Such a useful technique.” the warrior woman says to herself as your son disappears, then after a moment shakes her head, refocusing. “We should assess the damage caused by Darkseid's monsters.”
“Agreed.” Superman says, the three of you taking to the air. To your surprise, the damage is actually minimal. They don't even have to do much corpse removal, as when the portals were opened to recall the monsters, they dragged all of them back in. Even the ones crushed or bisected, leaving no trace of the invaders.
“The enemy cleaned up their own corpses for us. How considerate.” the woman says, but you see the Kryptonian's brows narrow. You aren't the only one who notices, the warrior frowning at him. “What?”
“They recalled their tech. Keeping us from being able to go after them.” he says, your eyes widening a bit in realization. Without Arctus's found box, the 'Mother Box' as he called it before, you wouldn't have any of their tech to show for it.
“Wait, maybe not.” you say, turning from the city to look back out at the sea. You don't see the tower immediately, so you launch yourself down into the water while the other two call out, but you ignore them and dive into the water. Looking around as your emerald aura illuminates the sea's depths, you find what you were looking for. There, in the bottom of the sea, is the top half of the first tower you'd destroyed. So you dash over, grabbing it in both hands then kick off the sea floor. You blitz back to the surface, emerging carrying the tower up in both hands. “Found it!”
“That's one of the towers.” the woman says as you set it on the dock, the two landing beside you looking at it. “But why wasn't it recalled with the rest?”
“I have no idea, but its yours.” you reply, taking your hands off of it. The Kryptonian notices how the metal'd bent where you'd grabbed it, but doesn't say anything. “I have no need for it.”
