Some time later you three sit on a brutalist industrial rooftop and watch all the reinforcements pull up to the burning glue factory. You even saw the Steel Soul hero team fly in, the mech pilots. How very high profile. And clearly way too late. You idly wonder if IO found whatever he came to that place for.
You've just finished redpilling your party members on the nature of "minion monsters" and the Monster King. The reactions are about what you would expect.
– "Four eyes was probably just bullshitting you." Rayle is busy trying to pop the bullets out of her with steam. "She's a human AND technically a glowie, like, come on."
Snail guy hums noncommittally. "I could believe it. Human or monster, everybody is always out to use you. Give you a job even.." He rubs his chin. "So, should we just like.. kill the Monster King?"
Both you and Rayle stare at him for a second in silence. He waves his hands a bit.
– "What? I'm down for murder if it keeps me unemployed." You snicker at that.
– "Pretty high-profile murder you're planning. Also, wouldn't that turn us back?"
– "I sure hope not. Neeting is much easier as a monster."
– "So you're gonna beat Luhud to the prize?" Rayle asks with a raised eyebrow.
– "Oh, fuck off guys, like you have better ideas." Snail guy crosses his slimy arms and continues.
– "Well, I'm definitely not going back to the monster-underground-ancient-city-whatever."
– "Wouldn't that be good for that greatest kill in history you're planning?" Rayle scratches her head. "You'd like.. know all the plans better."
– "I'm not going on any more missions." Snail guy says with finality. "Moldy?"
You think for a bit, watching the raindrops streak down on the glass of your mask. Rayle grumbles behind you in mock annoyance.
– "Stop aura farming and decide already."
– "Why, you need me to pick for you?"
She crosses her arms and gives you a challenging look in response. Huh. She *will* actually follow you. With the titanic feat of willpower, you opt not to tease your extremely volatile minion.
WHERE TO REST?
