>>6399877Alan, Artyom and Evander's main firearms are machine pistols (when does a machine pistol become an SMG anyway?) - while Artyom can get his LMG, the other two need proper rifles for when their special weapons are inappropriate, as was the case with Ophidia (and may be the case repeatedly in future, if we're leaning on subjects to fight for us, which will involve a lot of melee). Armour is worth something in CQC (at least within the narrative), ours has stopped some nasty very close-range gunshots at multiple points in the past and guards could well have a similar deal though I expect theirs to be lighter. Though I'll defer to you as the resident /k/ommando.
On the timescale of a firefight, which for us happens in seconds to a couple of minutes, we'd need an absolutely phenomenal acid to eat through metal plate we can't already penetrate with gunfire, much less factoring in AP ammo. It seems like a rather niche use.
My plan was to have Vinisha carry the launcher with an open backpack with some spare rockets in she can just reach back and grab another one from, like picrel. The amount she can carry is limited only by her carrying capacity - if she can carry a few then great, but if not she can take a couple of spares. I think six rockets should be quite enough - she carries three and someone else with spare carrying capacity takes another bag with three more to restock her from. I suppose she could also carry multiple disposable tubes in this way but they won't be as easy to pack in.
We can settle this question of what's best when we see what the armourer's got.
