It elicited some minor chuckles from a few folk. Though, for the most part, the guardsmen and your men just seemed determined to reach Annie. You walked past plenty of databanks and servers, the space seeming to stretch on for miles. All of the databanks were inactive, the large space being completely darkened aside from a couple of emergency exit signs. It was even more labyrinthine than most spaces you had visited, as you could see so many turns and side-routes. Despite this, the guardsmen seemed confident in where they were going. Until finally, you reached a small break room, you were led inside by the guardsmen, Don speaking up right away. “Alright, here we are now. She’ll be here any minu-“ Before he could even finish, you’d see someone rushing into the break room. Someone who was breathing heavily and slightly tired looking. With her pink hair, fox ears and tail, it was obvious to everyone who had quickly graced you with her presence.
Annie looked over all of you for a second, before her eyes locked onto Logan. Annie slowly stepped closer, as Logan gave a reassuring smile. “Annie... It has been... far too long.” Annie remained careful, Logan noticing and deciding to let himself get seated. “I take it... you’re worried it’s not me. But don’t worry. Just like the Hycean, I too... am more than alive.” Annie paused, before rushing over to Logan. Annie practically jumped at him, before immediately hugging him and starting to let out some tears. Logan was quick to hug her back, letting out some tears of his own as he rested his head against hers. “I’m so happy to finally see you again, Annie. I was so worried about you!” Logan calmly said, to which Annie pulled her head away from his shoulder. She scoffed. “I-I was worried a-about you, L-Logan. I knew I’d be f-fine... b-but I was so worried a-about you... A-About what would happen to you.” Annie buried her face in his shoulder again, Logan speaking softly and nodding. “Well... You no longer have to worry, Annie... I promise I’ll never leave you again, okay?”
Annie didn’t respond to the suggestion, simply hugging Logan and keeping quiet for a while. Most of your men seemed very pleased with the sight. The girls were also quite happy for Logan and Annie, even Katya. Only Isais and Reika seemed to not be too interested in what was going on between the subject and her creator. You and your men kept quiet, until Annie finally pulled back and looked over at you. She’d get up and took a deep breathe, before approaching you. “Mikhail. Thank you... for saving Logan. I knew from the day you tried to contact me, that I could trust you to do the right thing and to do it well. In return, please, let me show you the safest way up you and your men can take.” Annie clearly wanted to show her gratitude. Though given the list of things you had made to discuss with her... well, she wasn’t just going to get you to leave right away.
