Shanks also out! Shame about the hat pegging to luffy, so no option for head without, but otherwise a great figure.

This line is unsalvagable at this point. The people making these figures hate their job and most of all the people who buy this garbage.

Figma Frieren incoming. Maybe Bandai will reissue the SHF in response.

>>11376050 >a pro wrestling series that was inspired by ultraman yeah, most of its potential audience has one foot in the retirement home
Anonymous
>>11378344 Ultraman is one of those IPs that will live long and prosper like Transformers or Godzilla so it'll always draw in new fans even when the old ones will soon go. At least it's producing a new season every half a year or so unlike those 2 I mentioned so it's still going strong. Kinnikuman on the other hand I honestly don't see a lot of people give a shit about. Even the creator himself was dismayed the new anime wasn't as popular as expected and baffled it ranked 47 on some ranking site despite the good reviews.

>>11378355 ultraman is still very niche in the west. it might have some appeal to japanese kids every generation, but even that probably has a low ceiling compared to popular anime and games. kinnikuman is just a product for its time. wrestling was huge, ultraman was huge, combine the two to make a wacky manga, and it makes sense that it was popular. nowadays wrestling is niche and ultraman isn't big, so kinnikuman just doesn't pick up many new fans. most of the people who care about it are old and have been into it from when it was actually popular, or at least have some nostalgia for that era.
Anonymous
>>11378361 Well at least unlike say Super Sentai the heads at Tsuburaya knows how to expand Ultraman. The closest they got to a popular expansion was the Gridman anime even though Gridman isn't technically Ultraman. But true, Ultraman isn't as popular as say Transformers and Godzilla globally and I'd prefer it that way lest it starts building a fanbase like One Piece or Naruto. I also think along those reasons Kinnikuman wasn't that big or hot of a franchise, it's an old Shounen Jump series that hasn't been relevant for years so not a lot know of its existence and even with the new anime it didn't catch a lot of the newer fans since it's a standard wrestling anime when you have batshit insane wrestling/martial arts anime like Baki or Kengan Ashura that is still fresh in their minds. It's more of an underground or cult classic anime and it'll never be able to compete with the giants.

Quoted By:
>>11378344 >>11378355 >>11378361 >>11378369 The ultraman comparison seems mute at this point, since suguru growing large and fighting kaiju pretty much ends after the first few chapters/episodes once we reach the chojin olympics. From then on out it's more of a game/endurance/wrestling series, before eventually falling into the standard battle trope with the akumas.
>Even the creator himself was dismayed the new anime wasn't as popular as expected It's sad to see, as the duo have been campaigning for a new anime for years and probably thought they had more support, but I imagine didn't realise the competition they were up against.
It doessn't help that unlike dragon ball, the kinnikuman series relies heavily on characters past battles/experiences in plot development, so the average watcher not aware of the lore won't understand the impact of certain reveals/attacks/deaths etc. There are a lot of upgraded versions of all techniques for example, but fan service doesn't really work when the original audience would now be in there 50's
>>11378400 long running fighting manga from the 80's and more recent mma tournament series that eneded recentyl, respectively. Both were big hits on netflix, but are a lot more serious than the wacky gag series kinnikuman is.
